Alison Doody
Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model from 11 November 1996. She made her movie debut as the Bond girl on the set of A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she starred as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody played Nazi sympathetic archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan is in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Doody started modeling after being invited by an experienced photographer. It led to a successful career as a commercial model. Doody was determined to steer clear of glamour and nude roles, which was a principle she applied in her acting. She was cast in a minor role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that her name was picked by the casting director. Doody was named one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody had just turned 18 years old at the time she was cast in the character as a Bond girl. She is still the youngest Bond girl. In 1987, Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she played IRA member Siobhan Doovan. Doody played Archibald Craven's wife Lilias In his dream in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. The episode of the Storyteller Sapsorrow was her first lead role. It aired in 1988 with John Hurt, Dawn French as well as Jennifer Saunders. The first time she appeared was in the film Taffin opposite Pierce Brosnan. Next, she portrayed the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian archaeologist and Nazi-sympathizer opposite Harrison Ford. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors that have played James Bond. Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Doody later moved to Hollywood. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokeswoman. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. Doody's first appearance on the big screen came in 2003, when Michael Caine played Doody in an uncredited role. The roles she played included a TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004, a booklet about the Holocaust as well as a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody appeared as a character in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. The following year, she had been scheduled set to be the main character in The Asphyx remake, but this project did not go ahead. She began her first two seasons of The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. In November 2018, she won the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and received a Star on the Walk of Fame in Almeria.
